About the event

The Consul General of France Arnaud Mentré and his wife Caroline are delighted to invite you to the launch of Boston Boost’Her–a new women’s empowerment network designed to help its members ignite their own spark!

For many years, the French Consulate General has been active in the promotion of gender equality, with the launch of a framework last year to foster French-American exchanges called the Paris-Boston Women’s Forum.

So the Consulate warmly welcomes this network “Boston Boost’Her” which will offer professional and personal development opportunities—as well as promote social innovation. It will provide its members with more interactions with the academic world in Boston and trigger projects that will help the community around us.

The first guest will be Professor Julie Battilana, a distinguished Harvard professor and expert in social innovation. Julie will discuss her latest book and call to action together with other French academics to democratize the workplace to involve employees in the government of their workplace, decommodify parts of the economy that cannot just be managed by market forces, and remediate the environment. The Covid-19 crisis magnified the massive inequalities in wealth and access to care and we will have the opportunity to discuss these issues and the contributions we can all bring.
